I was once told by someone I look up to that I shouldn't bother debating politics or religion with anyone as most people seem to have their truths confirmed.
I don't believe that anymore.
I think we need more communication and that's why I'm writing this.
I view global unity, and collective learning, as a necessary catalyst in our solution to survival.
Combining our knowledge and experience, in my view, also includes our beliefs of what life is.
Before you continue, know I can't think of many things I respect more than the right and beauty to our own beliefs, also please remember the sentiments of Voltaire "I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it."
I want to explore what this existence is.
Referring to the dialogue "The Republic," (Plato's) Theory of Forms or Realm of Forms brings the idea that the existence we know and live in is only a shadow of true reality, which is where true forms exist.
What's a form? Think about the classic example of roundness and how nothing in our realm is perfectly round, there is always a bump or imperfection, but the idea of roundness exists.
Knowing that energy is neither created nor destroyed (only converted from one form to another,) What I want to know and collect a variety of views on (In a non-hostile and safe way,) is:
Does consciousness end?
Are consciousness and a soul different or the same?
Is the reality we live in the only reality that exists?
If deciding to take part and comment with what you believe, please be considerate and aware of the feelings of others.
